Power Trips Stop The Party

Have you ever been at an event and the music stops abruptly? In the famous words of Rhianna, “Please don’t stop the music.” Dead silence during a reception is a DJs worst nightmare.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to work with experienced professionals. Recently, I played at a venue that did not provide the specific power requirements I requested weeks in advance. They assured me everything would be fine when I shared my concerns with the team. However, during the reception the power tripped because I was on the same circuit as the string lights. Thankfully, it wasn’t during the first dance or another crucial reception moment. Still, it frustrates me because this was a completely avoidable issue. My biggest concern was that this might happen over and over again with no solution in sight for the rest of the night. This situation could have easily ruined the evening if the power continued to trip. Luckily, the crowd and couple were amazing and I was able to make some adjustments so we could continue on with the celebrations.

Each event comes with its own set of unique challenges. The best way to ensure your wedding goes off without any hiccups? Assemble a team that truly understands your needs, plans ahead, comes prepared and can pivot at a moments notice.
