Initially, my good friend Beth requested I make a Spotify playlist for this soiree, but after some consideration, I decided DJing it live would make for a more-impactful and appropriate vibe.

The trouble with making a playlist in advance, is the event always turns out a little different in real life than what was in your head. The guests are a little different, the decor is a different, the whole feel is different. Reading a room allows me to pivot and shift when necessary, while maintaining a seamless, lively atmosphere.

This mix features a lot of 80’s pop, specifically New Wave hits, but also incorporates some newer tracks from Taylor, Miley, and Dua. (Yes we’re on a first-name basis.)
